High Field Extremity MRI
What Is Extremity MRI?
Forget what you have heard about or experienced with other MRIs. With our High Field Extremity MRI system, a comfortable, relaxing chair takes the place of a closed tube. Noise is minimal, and only the extremity that you're having scanned – be it a foot, ankle, elbow, knee, wrist, or hand – needs to be positioned in the magnet. It all adds up to an experience that's not just comfortable, but comforting as well. As for imaging quality, our Extremity High Field MRI System delivers images equal to that of whole-body scanners, assuring the best possible results and outcomes for sports and orthopedic injuries.

What Should I Expect?
During an MRI scan, you will be seated in a comfortable chair. A piece of equipment called a "coil," which sends and receives the radio frequency waves used in this technology, will be placed around the area being examined. The exam is painless, but you will need to remain still for the length of the exam. The MRI machine may be noisy, but we will provide MRI-safe headphones which will allow you to listen to music or if you are having a scan of your knee, foot or ankle you may read. The usual MRI exam takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes depending on your specific exam.
